Let’s Give This Try!

Let me just start with this, Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and everything about me revolves around that fact.  He’s led me to this point in life and I know He will lead me through many more obstacles from here forward.  I have an amazing wife, Paige and two awesome kids, Gavin (almost 2) and Brynlee (4 months).

My hope is that as your read this blog from here forward, you will be encouraged, strengthened in your relationship with Jesus Christ, and get to know my family and I.  So, let’s get going!  Now, there is so much that I want to say and get out ‘cause God has been doing so much lately, but I think I should start from the beginning.

Back in 2002 I felt the call to step into full time, occupational ministry.  Little did I know at the time of the journey that God would take me on.  After I graduated high school, I went on to Tabor College to major in Christian Ministries focused on Youth Ministry.  During my final semester at Tabor, I met my beautiful wife, Paige and we ended up getting engaged that winter.

Now, our engagement was everything but normal!  Right after we got engaged, I accepted a Youth Pastor position at Birch Bay Bible Community Church in Birch Bay, WA.  Now, growing up on a farm and small town in Oklahoma, this was a major shift to move to the Pacific Northwest!  But Paige and I knew that is where God was calling us together.

So, I moved to Washington in December of 2007, leaving my fiancé in Kansas…

That was a fun but tough spring.  I began my first Pastoral Ministry on my own, in a totally different world than what I had ever known…apart from Paige…

But, that spring went by pretty quick, and before I knew it, it was July 26th and Paige and I were getting married in Kansas!

Our honeymoon then consisted of a road trip out west as we moved everything of Paige’s that would fit in her car!  A car that liked to overheat…and had way to many miles on it!  But, you know what, God got us through to Washington!  …and the words of her uncle Ernie, “Remember, it could always be worse!”

Well, I could keep going on with detail after detail of what happened for the next 7 years…but I’ll say this…God was with us.

There have been many joys and struggles along the way…and I’ll get into some of those in the near future, but God has been good.  He has given me a strong marriage with Paige and now two amazing kids that always have me laughing!  (Paige’s mom said there would never be a dull moment with Paige and boy was she right!!)  Most of all though, God has given me and our family exactly what is needed.

And for that I am thankful.

Until next time, I hope that you take another step to Christ and be encouraged in this life!
